Celebrity book clubs have sprung up left and right over the past few decades, and it seems like more celebs are joining the reading bandwagon every year. Let's face it. We're all curious about what books celebrities are reading and enjoying. When a famous person you respect recommends a book, it makes it a little bit easier to determine what title you should read next, especially when there are so many options. Each one has its own style, vibe and goals, so you’re sure to find one that fits your preferences, whether you enjoy indie authors, backlist gems or page-turning thrillers.
1. Oprah’s Book Club
Oprah was the first celebrity to launch a modern media-driven celebrity book club as we know it. This recurring feature launched in September 1996 as a regular segment on her seminal TV show. To date, she has recommended over 124 books. Her picks have propelled little-known authors and potentially overlooked titles into overnight bestsellers. Yep, that’s the Oprah effect.

Between Two Books may not be the most recognizable celebrity book club. Although you may not have even heard of it, it’s actually one of the longest-running celebrity-related book clubs. It was created by a teenage fan of Florence + The Machine back in 2012 as a way to share artistic and avant-garde reads recommended by Florence Welch herself, and now the book club is officially endorsed by her.

3. Reese’s Book Club
Founded by Reese Witherspoon in 2017 through her media company Hello Sunshine, Reese’s Book Club is dedicated to featuring books with strong female leads and women-centered story arcs. She even founded her own publishing imprint Thousand Voices Books in partnership with Random House.

His team typically selects a lineup of new releases, including thrillers, mysteries and romance from new and established authors. Fans then vote for their favorites to make it through a March Madness-style tournament bracket.
