Kelly's Pick & Pairings
"My book club read Before We Were Yours and really enjoyed it! It seemed only fitting to pick another one of Lisa Wingate's books, The Book of Lost Friends, for our January pick. This is a great read for anyone who loves historical fiction. I listened to the audiobook and kept wanting to sit in my car to find out what was going to happen next."
Jane's Pick & Pairings
"There's a reason the Starz series about her is called The Serpent Queen. Power. Poison. Politics. Catherine de Medici’s life reads like a Shakespearean drama, and Leonie Frieda captures every ruthless twist. From orphaned Italian heiress to the queen of France, Catherine’s story is one of survival, strategy and scandal. The book paints Catherine as a savvy political operator who navigated the religious wars of 16th century France, court intrigue and familial betrayals with resilience, cunning...and (perhaps...?) a little bit of poison. If you love your history rich and your queens complicated, this is a must-read."

"With multiple different narrations and point of views, this thriller shows the extreme differences of positive and negative body image issues can have on someone. It's something to consider when starting the new year and decided what your resolutions are. The thing to remember is to stay positive, be healthy both mentally AND physically and do what is best for you! Most importantly though... avoid murder. But that might be a separate issue. 😂"

"New year, new book club themes! If reading classics seems intimidating or is out of your comfort zone, you're not alone. I tend to prefer more modern reads, but one of my goals is to incorporate more classic literature into my TBR. I recently (I know, I know..) read Little Women for the first time and was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed and even related to the March sisters and their heartwarming tale. Keeping in tune with the classic element, you can't go wrong with the 1994 movie adaptation!"
Alandria's Pick & Pairings
"I just joined my church's book club and I Surrender All is our first read of the year! If you're a believer, this read is a great reminder of the importance of discipleship and encourages you to embrace a more abundant life through true faith and consistent discipline. It also gives practical steps and spiritual insights to guide you into making a conscious decision about the kind of Christian you strive to be each and every day."
